On April Fools Day, Flordia police went to the dark alleys of the internet undercover and stopped alleged would-be child sexual offenders. The sting operation stopped 18 men from having sexual encounters with our children.
Sheriff Judd, from Polk County, stated: “these freaks and deviants are looking for our children every day online.”
They were all different type men, with different lives, different jobs, different worlds, but they held one common bond, they were all pedophiles. The innocent children were between 10 and 14-years-old.
The undercover operation lured them with false ads and profiles using social media pretending to be the child or the child’s guardian. Some of the pedophiles took the bait and detectives released horrifying details of the alleged meetings.
Robert Michael Gordon 20, of Clermont, arrived at the undercover location with two condoms expecting to have sex with a 14-year-old girl. Michael Fernandez 21, arranged to have sex with a 10-year-old little girl. Howard Bishop III 60-year-old allegedly talked to an undercover detective saying he had a 10-year-old girl who he implied had experience with sexual acts. Robert Michael Gordon, a football coach at a Christian school allegedly set-up an encounter with a 14-year-old girl with two condoms found on him. And the list goes on.
Note, these men were coaches and a married hospital technician—people your child would encounter on any normal day. The predators showed up with condoms, candy and illegal narcotics and some asked for nude photos of the children. Sheriff Judd stated, “Any child with a social media device means a predator has access to that child.”
Eighteen suspects were taken in for a total of 103 charges and possibly more pending after a search of their phones and computers.
