First Date

After months of badgering by a friend, I joined a single parents organization believing I would be discussing and receiving suggestions on being a single parent. But, it turned out it was more of a dating group than anything else. This group would have a five-minute meeting and discuss conferences being held around the country, then, they were off to a lounge for drinking and dancing. Continue reading “My First Date”

The Storm and Semi

After Broch’s death, his mistresses, no will, my grief, my son’s grief—I was just about at the end of my rope. I was not doing well at all. I spent most nights up crying until dawn, sleeping a couple of hours and starting another wicked day. It got to the point, that Crystal had Joshua more than I did. I couldn’t handle his grief and mine too. I had nothing left in me to try and comfort him with. To this day, I feel guilty over not being able to care for Joshua. The Impact of Broch’s Death

The Storm and Semi

Broch and I were in the process of making out our wills, but they were not finished when he died. Which meant a lot of hassle for me. I attended a court hearing and was granted permission to settle the estate. In the process of doing so, I needed the registration card for our vehicle to have it put into my name. While going through the glove box, I found a card from another woman that worked with Broch. Her name was Sue and I had met her on a couple of occasions. Broch felt badly for her because she was a single parent and a nice person. Continue reading “The Impact of Broch’s Death”

What Happened to the Sexually Abusive Catholic Priests?

The Storm and Semi

The Vatican defrocked close to 400 priests from 2011-2012. There were a “scant few” disciplined by the Vatican. It would appear that some church polices discipline their own and decide if the priest’s allegations are true or not. When did the Church become jury, judge and executioner? I thought the laws of the US governed all. Was I wrong? Continue reading “What Happened to the Sexually Abusive Catholic Priests?”

April Fools Sex Sting

Man in Jail

On April Fools Day, Flordia police went to the dark alleys of the internet undercover and stopped alleged would-be child sexual offenders. The sting operation stopped 18 men from having sexual encounters with our children.
Sheriff Judd, from Polk County, stated: “these freaks and deviants are looking for our children every day online.” Continue reading “April Fools Sex Sting”

The Archdiocese of Boston

Catholic Church

The Boston Globe broke the story of the sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic church in Boston. After the story broke, many more came forward with allegations against priests in that diocese until it was a full-blown scandal in the United States and Ireland.

Insurance companies refused to pay for the damages by the abusive priests; stating it was a deliberate act on the priests part. Therefore, the Church had to pay for the damages. Law-suits won by the accusers totaled a whopping $100 million! It became necessary for the Boston Diocese to sell off property to Boston College to cover the cost of all the law-suits. Going Home

Editor’s Note: The following article is an excerpt from my manuscript detailing my own abuse. Please see “My Story of Abuse” under the category link.

I made it back to the cottage where we were staying in one piece. I wanted to scream my guts out, but I knew I’d never stop. I had kids to take care of and a house to pack. I sent both kids to the shower and then told them to start packing their rooms. The fridge was full of food and two expensive bottles of wine Broch’s boss sent with us. I kept fighting back my tears–I knew I had to keep it together for a little while longer. Finally, Broch’s cousins showed up and I did a total meltdown. Continue reading “Going Home”

Footprints in the Sand

Footprints

I got up out of my lounger and raced to the surf in time to see Broch and Elaine being tossed around wildly by the waves. I was yelling at them, but they couldn’t hear me over the crashing waves. I heard Broch yelling for help. I was panic-stricken as I started out into the water to try and help them. They were going farther and farther out to sea. I told Joshua to run to the pier and tell them we needed help. He begged me to stay out of the water. He made it to the pier and back in record time and looked white as a sheet.
