The Daily Sheeple

Krause recently wrote an article in The Daily Sheeple regarding the molestation charges against the former Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert. I am with Krause, I want to know how these politicians continuously walk away from their crimes? It has been alleged that Mr. Hastert molested several boys back in the 60’s and 70’s that he was coaching.
While investigating Mr. Hastert’s financial crimes, it was uncovered that he’d been paying one of the alleged victims hush money in the amount of $3.5 million!
According to the prosecution: “The actions at the core of this case took place not on the defendant’s national public stage but in his private one-on-one encounters in an empty locker room and a motel room with minors that violated the special trust between those young boys and their coach.” And if that’s not enough to make you wretch—Hastert had the audacity to ask one of his alleged victims if could help him out with some cash.
Fortunately, for Hastert the statute of limitations had expired. Therefore, no charges can be filed against him.
I believe the “statute of limitations” needs changed for child sexual abuse cases. Just think how many Catholic priests walked for the same reason. And, the legislators would probably never hear of changing it—because some of them may be in the same boat as Hastert.
The article didn’t mention the welfare of the abused in this case. Why is the villain portrayed as the victim; and the victims as some type of irritation to get rid of? I would have loved to heard the damages to these men that was a direct result of the sexual abuse. Where’s that story?
I also noted about this particular article that they refer to Hastert as a molester instead of a pedophile. Molestation is a classified as a crime; while pedophilia is classified as emotional illness. It may have been realized right away that the charges would not stick to Hastert; and it would be better for him publicly to not be viewed as a pedophile because they normally never stop their abuse.
Child sexual abuse destroys lives. Hastert may have destroyed four lives or many lives throughout the decades, but let’s not refer to him as a pedophile.
